Will Kallberg's path through life has led him to jobs in many fields, and a love for art eventually led him to the small town of Winesburg.
Here, he and his wife, Carol, have made a home and a business rooted in faith, family, community and artistic vision that comes to Will naturally.
Will's interest in working with wood grew while he worked at a family-owned company that has made organs for churches and theaters for more than a century.
When he and Carol first moved to their 1840s-era pair of houses in Amish country, he focused his attention on carving fireplace mantels. He worked primarily in old barn beams, carving eagle's heads and wings, or oak leaves into the face of the beams. He continues this work today, and the result is a unique mantel every time.
As he grew in the art, Will ventured into stone and metal sculpture. His stone work began with unique bird baths -- each one carved differently to fit the individual stone. Some are embellished with bronze images he created -- birds and woodland creatures.
At the same time, he expanded his work in bronze, including stylistic birds and a life-like, life-size fawn.
Will and Carol are deeply rooted in their faith in God, which provides daily guidance and inspiration. They are involved with their local church and in community organizations.
Carol is a newspaper columnist who has been writing for the Holmes County Hub of Millersburg and The Daily Record of Wooster for more than 40 years. Her column, "Every House Should Have A Green Mouse," appears weekly.
