Winesburg, Ohio

...in the heart of Amish country

News and

Events are

relative

things.

This is Winesburg...

Winesburg is a small village. Big news is rare, and we like it that way.

That doesn't mean we don't have news. We celebrate births and the lives of those who pass. We relish a chicken-dinner fundraiser at the local firehouse.

And there's nothing better than a potluck at Zion Church after the Sunday service.

Still, there are ways to stay in touch with what's going on locally, and this page provides you with links to some sites to help with that.

Whitmer's store is a hub of activity in Winesburg, holding fast to the traditions of a general store with modern conveniences such as soft-serve ice cream, pizza and broasted chicken & jojo potatoes.

Big doin's in Winesburg:

Eagle Song Studio offers Garden tours of Will's sculptures at your liesure.

Here are Web sites that will help you find your way in Winesburg and Holmes County or keep up on local happenings:

The Winesburg community Web site has details about local businesses and events.

The Holmes County Chamber of Commerce provides information about the larger community, including shops, restaurants and lodging amid the largest Amish population in the world.

And if you'd like information about the nearby community of Walnut Creek, home to Der Dutchman restaurant and bakery, please visit the Amish Country Journal site.

If you'd like to join us for church, see the Zion Church Web site for details on our faith community.

And for news from Amish country, see The Budget newspaper from Sugarcreek, The Daily Record of Wooster or The Times-Reporter of New Philadelphia.

A sharp curve on Ohio Rt. 62 signals the entrance to Winesburg from the northeast.
